[comp.text] Is there such a beast as GNU-Tex?

pat@seradg.Dayton.NCR.COM (Patrick Pesch) (09/24/87)

I was just starting to plod around in the GNUemacs source/documentation
that we have here on our Tower, and I noticed that all the GNUemacs
documentation is in "Tex" format. This make me wonder:

		1) Why not [nt]roff for more general availability

		2) Does a "GNUTex" distribution exist? This would be
great if such source was available, although my guess
is that it is not [ :-( ]

If it does, however, does anyone have any more info?
