Some time ago I posted a request for information about programs that would allow ditroff to drive an HP Laserjet+ printer. Several people requested that I post the results of that query. Here they are. Dave Shanks ..!tektronix!tessi!atelabs!cds AT&E Laboratories cds@atelabs.UUCP 1400 NW Compton Suite 300 (503) 690-2000 Beaverton, OR 97006 ----------------------------- From: Michael S. Fischbein <msf@ames-nas.arpa> Try contacting your hp dealer. They offer ditroff and a translator as part of their DWB package for their own computers. Maybe you can get it for yours. [ Our Laserjet dealer can barely *say* Unix, let alone ditroff. I haven't gotten a response yet from HP's own sales force. - cds ] ----------------------------- From: wescott@ncrcae.Columbia.NCR.COM Contact Brent Byer at Textware International (617)-864-8398 for an excellent product for the HP LJ+. -- -Mike Wescott ----------------------------- From: jlo@elan.UUCP Elan Computer Group, Inc. sells a package called EROFF which is the AT&T Documenter's WorkBench (DWB), including device independent troff, nroff, tbl, eqn, pic, grap, macros, etc., plus bug fixes and enhancements including bitmap graphics inclusion, and a driver for your choice of printer (All HP LaserJet models, PostScript printers, or Imagen Impress printers). Automatic HP Soft Font downloading is done for the LaserJets. DWB and the printer drivers are also available separately. Jeff Lo ELAN Computer Group 410 Cambridge Avenue, Suite A Palo Alto, CA 94306 (415) 322-2450 [ This is a good product. We have its PC version running on one of our PCs and it works great. Unfortunately, the Unix version is a bit spendy. -- cds ] ----------------------------- From: utzoo!henry You might ... want to check out the archives of comp.sources.unix, I think there have been one or two such things posted there. Henry Spencer @ U of Toronto Zoology {allegra,ihnp4,decvax,pyramid}!utzoo!henry [ There are four packages for the LaserJet in the comp.sources.unix archives. None are exactly what we wanted, but they are a good interim solution. -- cds ] ----------------------------- From: odyssey!gls I hacked one at the U. of Buffalo, complete with QMS fonts (!). You may be able to get it from the sysadm, sunybcs!kensmith. :L ----------------------------- From: geac!david (David Haynes) I have one for BSD machines. If you want it, send me email. -david- ----------------------------- From: campbell@maynard.BSW.COM A local company, Textware International, sells a port of the AT&T Documenter's Work Bench (DWB) including dvi drivers for the HP LaserJet and LaserJet+. We use and like the product. You can reach them at: Textware International P.O.
