Sorry for yet another request, but then I do occasionaly send out an
informative article, so I guess it's alright.
Ever since our compiler design course here at PSU moved from small CPM
Winchester systems to the large IBM, we have had all these neat 5 and 10
MEG Winchester drives just lying around. Rather than letting them rot
away, we would like to use them on our 11/34's.
The drive systems are extremely typical. Shugart drives, a controller, and
a S-100 host adapter. My question thus is:
To put these drives on a Unibus, do we just need a host adapter, or do we
need (or want, these controllers are pretty old) a whole new controller
system. Also, could someone send us info (price, ease of installation,
company, etc) on these controllers/adapters? Thank you,
