Hi, A number of people here use their pc's to access our Unix system. I would like to put together a package to allow them to preview TeX dvi files on their pc from the Unix machine. To do this I need two packages: 1. A communications package that runs on an ibm-pc or compatible that also supports graphics (cga, ega, or hercules cards) commands sent by the machine being accessed. I have heard of several packages that have built in tektronics emulators. (tekkerm - kermit with tektronics emulation, Emu-Tek etc). 2. A dvi previewer that runs under Unix 4.3 for the type of graphics supported by #1 above. Has anyone come up with such a combination or had any experience trying? From what I have seen so far the tektronics emulator or vt220 emulator (I think the vt220 is a graphics terminal) seem to be good possibilities. Does anyone have any information on a dvi previewer for for either the tektronics or the vt220? Public domain or commercial. You can respond via e-mail and I will post a summary. Any information you have would be appreciated. Doug Tiarks UW-Milwaukee Computing Services Div. Internet: doug@csd4.milw.wisc.edu UUCP: {uwvax, uwmacc, ihnp4}!uwmcsd1!doug
