Where can I buy Scribe? Are there other implementations of a standard Markup Language on BSD Unix? What is Scribe? Please respond via e-mail; if there are enough "me too's," I'll post. -Mitch Wyle (wyle@solaris.uucp | wyle@ethz.uucp | ...!cernvax!ethz!wyle

did you mean script ad GML ? script is a text formatting program generally running onm mainframes; developed at the UNiv of Waterloo Ontario. I have used it thru the ITS (Info Techn Services) at Stanford Univ. You can get an account if you wish. The cost is very reasonable ; there is telenet access. GML is a generalized markup language which is a set of macros written in script ; also available at Stanford . I have seen Scribe mentioned but can't recall details right now .

Unless Scribe has changed and they haven't told us, it isn't quite Generalized Mark-up Language. It is very close in design, and translation between Scribe and SGML should be possible. Arbortext's Publisher seems to be a real SGML.
