Can someone please send me information on PiCTeX, a set of macros for
producing very fine diagrams. It does shading, rotations, etc.
Where can I get it? Will it cost me?

PiCTeX is free, you can FTP it from galton.uchicago.edu (I think), but it is useless without the excellent manual by its author, Michael J. Wichura. This costs $15 and you can get it by writing to Michael at Dept. of Statistics, Univ. of Chicago, 5734 Univ. Avenue, Chicago, IL 60637-4931. email: wichura@galton.uchicago.edu PiCTeX is great; support Wichura. A correction to my previous claim that PiCTeX might be FTPable from
galton.uchicago.edu. Michael Wichura informs me that
galton is not set up for FTP. So don't get frustrated trying to connect
to it.
There are two places Micharel knows of to pick PiCTeX up via FTP ---
MACHINE FILE
june.cs.washington.edu pub/PiCTeX.tar.Z
a.cs.uiuc.edu pub/TeX/pictex.tar
If you learn of any other sources, please let him know.
