[comp.text] Getting fontsize for numerals correct in TeX.

abc@unh.UUCP (Avinash B Chopde) (03/22/88)

I use the roman font with point size 12 for writing text.
The problem is in getting the correct point size for the numbers.

I tried changing textfont0 and textfont1 to fonts of 12 point size
but it did not have any effect on the size of the numbers printed out.
The numbers come out slightly shorter than the text all the time---I wonder
now if that's the way it is supposed to be!

Any help would be appreciated.

What follows is the relevant TeX portion I am using:
(backslashes changed to /)

======================
/font/rm=amr10 at 12pt
/font/bf=ambx10 at 12pt
/font/sl=amsl10 at 12pt
/global/textfont0=/rm % setting math font size - for numbers and punctuation
/global/textfont1=/sl % setting math font size - for the alphabet
/rm % set default font
