I used the "\special" command in TeX to include a post script file into a Tex document. The resulting dvi file was processed using dvi2ps to produce a post script file. However, when I attempted to print this post script file, I got a rangecheck error for the 'put' command. Note that if I remove the \special command from my TeX document, and then process the dvi file through dvi2ps and then print it, I get no errors. Also, if I print the included post script file by itself, I get no errors. Its only when I they are combined do I get errors. I guess one of the files chenges the working environment for the other by redefining some commands etc. etc. We are running the TeX and dvi2ps on a Sun 3. The included post script file was generated on a Mac 2 using the 'command-F' feature to force the system to generate a post script file instead of sending it to the printer. I think we have version 2.0 (June 1985) of dvi2ps and the corresponding tex.ps file. If anybody has ideas on solving the above problem, I'd like to hear them through email. In addition, if there is a newer version of dvi2ps or the associated "tex.ps" header file that anyone knows about, I would appreciate hearing about how I can get a copy.
