[comp.text] Cheap nroff/troff printer?

km@emory.uucp (Ken Mandelberg) (05/31/88)

Is there a very inexpensive printer which is a very good choice
for technical mathematics with nroff/(di)troff? I include in
this the existance of the approriate driving software.

For nroff that would mean a printer that either had a rich
built in character set, or downloadable characters. It would
need an appropriate terminal description table and possibly a
program to download the character set.

For ditroff it would mean an appropriate filter, which either
rasterizes the whole image or takes advantage of fine positioning
commands in the printer.
