I've seen a good deal of interesting titles recently, what with the (say it softly) surveys and all going on...but does anyone out there have an interest in really horrible music? Not "horrible" like uncultured, mindless, etc. -- just truly awful, perverted or strange albums? Among my favorites are: Star Wars soundtrack -- played on an organ in some church in Hartford, Ct Let's Go To Moscow, Mr. President -- a single, subject self-explanatory Hair -- Japanese version Die Rocky Horror Picture Show -- in German, featuring the smash hit "Zeitsprung" (time warp) and of course, Rufus Harley -- jazz bagpipes, playing such classics as "Love is Blue," "Windy," and "Eight Miles High" Playing this last album too many times recently has elicited death threats from my roommate. Not that I'm not interested in "real" music as well -- but there's something about a record that makes Spike Jones sound like Herbert von Karjan ... Anyone else? ==Bob death@yale-comix

Don't forget Weird Al Jankevic (never seen it spelled; pronounced yank-i-vik) with his classics: My Bologna (to the tune of "My Shirona" (sp?)) Another One Rides the Bus (to the tune of "Another One Bites the Dust")

And, another Al Jankevich song called "It's Still Billy Joel To Me", played on accordion and harmonica.

And please try to remember Steve Dahl's 'Do Ya Think I'm Disco'.

More Weird Al Yankovic (that's how it's spelled) songs: Yoda (to the tune of "Lola") Stop Draggin' My Car Around (to the tune of "Stop Draggin' My Heart Around") I'll Be Mellow When I'm Dead Pac Man (to the tune of "Taxman") None of these songs are available as records, however they are often heard on the Dr. Demento Show. By the way, "Yoda" was the most requested song on his show in 1981. Scott Abbot hocda!sra

Where can Dr. Demento be heard in the NY/NJ area? I used to get him occasionally in NC via skip from Chicago but havent found his NY address yet. Don Imus is a poor substitute. Gregory G. Woodbury BTL PY 2K-332 x7287 (...!npois!eiss!ggw)

For all you soundtrack fans out there do NOT try: Greatest Science Fiction Hits by Neil Norman and His Cosmic Orchestra. I purchased this travesty in a hurry, not noticing at the time that none of the pieces were the original orchestrations. This record becomes downright offensive to the well educated soundtrack ear, and at best, could be ammusing to someone who did not know better, and had not payed for it. Dave Miller yale-comix!dm
