We have just purchased an AGFA P400/PS LED printer. It is a postscript box with 406 dpi resolution. Does anyone else out there have any experience with such a beast? I have to regenerate the TeX font files and some suggestions on mf parameters would be great. I have generated some with zero for all the parameters and the output looks a bit thin in places eg. the curled up tail of the lower case roman "t"s. Also it does appear to have a problem with drawing circles. I have been sending gemdraw files and some mac software output with circles and they either don't come out (gemdraw) or come out filled in (mac stuff) for a simple outline circle. I tried doing thick line circles (gemdraw) and got just a dot of about the thickness of the line. I think the box has the ATLAS board in it if that means anything to anyone. Also how do I go about getting font width tables for use with ditroff? The final product has got 73 fonts although we seem to have some sort of beta release with about 30 odd fonts only. I also will need a printer symbiont for VMS to use with it. We have it connected to a terminal server RS232 port at present. We will eventually be connecting to a centronics parallel printer port on an EMULEX terminal server that is arriving in about a months time. I guess I have 2 questions here. Anyone got a LAT postscript printer symbiont and anyone got an AGFA tailored symbiont? Of course one that does both would be great but that may be expecting a bit much.
