[comp.text] TeX for MS-DOS anywhere ?

heymann@ztivax.UUCP (Juergen Heymann) (09/22/88)

Does anyone out there know about a version of TeX for MS-DOS (PC/AT)?
Of course, I'd prefer a public-domain version.

Thanks for any information :-)

I don't know about public domain versions, but there is PC-TEX that will run
on any IBM PC and most clones. It's marketed by a company in California. I
can e-mail you the address, or if enough people are interested, I can post
it. This version is fully compatable with what the Lab runs on Suns and VAXs.

There is a guy named Jon Radel at the address below. Send him a
self-addressed, stamped business envelope with enough postage to
handle 2 ounces. Jon will send you a flyer describing what he has,
which is a considerable amount of stuff. What he has includes TeX,
LaTeX, DVI drivers for various dot matrix printers commonly found on
PCs, DVI previewers for PC displays, jillions of utility programs, etc.
