Hello, networld. I'm trying to come up with a way of inserting marginal notes into my document, but (unlike the |\margin| supplied by the \TeX book) I want the marginal note to stay as close to the paragraph it belongs to (instead of floating to the top of the page it appears on). For example, the text It is important to note that blargnatzes are not necessarily gnommable, \margin{Blargnatzes need not be gnommable.} even though they do possess turliate properties. would produce It is important to note that blargnatzes are not Blargnaztes need not necessarily gnommable, even though they do possess be gnommable. turliate properties. (The usefulness of such a marginal note facility should be clear.) I figure I'd need a whatsit (maybe a carefully-crafted |\vadjust|) but I can't seem to come up with a viable solution. (An ideal solution should deal with the case in which a five-line marginal note is attached to the last line on a page, but right now, I'd be happy to see anything.) (I know this is possible, since the venerable Dr. Knuth did exactly this in his latest book, ``Concrete Mathematics''.)
