[comp.text] Xerox VP Questions

anderson@vms.macc.wisc.edu (Jess Anderson, MACC) (12/22/88)

In the course of using Xerox Ventura Publisher w/
Professional Extension, I've encountered some problems.
I know that Xerox sells technical support (very dear,
too), but although I have workarounds of my own devising,
I wonder if there are Xerox people on the net who would
*at least* listen to problem descriptions, and *maybe*
even offer solutions.

As a first example, I frequently create PostScript objects
and paste them in in the usual line-art way. VP seems to
set the linejoin default to 1, rather than 0. VP seems
to be unable to print some objects (they are, I believe,
well-behaved wrt structure) if the frame has the maintain
original shape attribute, but will print the same object
if the frame is distorted (the bounding box exactly matches
the frame dimensions so no distortion actually occurs).

And so on. Any relief in sight?
