Help Mr. Wizard! I'm playing with the DECDLD device control string to down-line load characters on a vt240 (I also have access to a vt320, Tatung, and an IBM 3151 that emulates a vt220). What I'd like to do is find a way to do graphics using the sixel capability. I can build sixels and display them on my LN03 using the "Select Sixel Mode" introducer, and a variant of this technique was posted to comp.os.vms a while back that runs on the vt240. Alas, this technique doesn't work (as far as I can tell) on the vt320 or IBM 3151 in vt220 mode. I think this means I have to do graphics for the generic vt220 down-line loading a character at a time. The main problem I came up against is trying to get the ``full-cell'' modifier to work. Each time I try to set the DRCS full cell parameter on the VT240 it fails to load the character. Without the full-cell parameter I end up with a column that I can't fill in for each character cell. Does anyone know 1) anything about what I'm talking about; 2) how to get the full-cell parameter to work; 3) how to go about solving the general problem of graphics on the vt200/vt300 series and it's clones? If there is enough interest I'll post a summary. PS I'm aware that there is a company that makes a graphics package for the vt220. What I'd really like to do is have GNUPlot work with vt220 type terminals (which means giving away the source code). -- John Campbell ...!arizona!naucse!jdc CAMPBELL@NAUVAX.bitnet unix?
