[comp.text] Does PiCTeX exist for the IBM-RT?

mostardi@ux1.lbl.gov (David Mostardi) (01/31/89)

I am looking for PiCTeX on the IBM-RT. Can anyone point
me in the right direction?

As PiCTeX is a macro package for TeX the answer is yes as long as you
have gotten TeX running on the RT. Let me know and I can see if I can
locate the macros for you.

Just a minor plug, Univ. of Washington has a "C" based TeX available
so you don't need Pascal or Web. It is extremely compatable with a good
Pascal TeX (haven't found anything PcTeX can do it can't yet but I have
done relatively minor things with it; no books).

E-mail me for info. It's free if you can ftp.

If you don't have a copy of the manual, you'll be pretty baffled by the
macros. A copy of the manual (with the macros on a PC floppy) may be
obtained from the TeX Users Group. The cost for members is $30 (I think
the non-member cost is somewhat higher).
