[comp.text] pxl format at \magstephalf

I am trying to print out GNU documentation using Texinfo.
Unfortunately for me, Texinfo seems to be fond of fonts at
\magstephalf, and since we don't have the font files at this
magnification on our system, dvi2ps substitutes in fonts at
\magstep0. This is readable, but not completely satisfactory.
I have tried to using gf files at 329 dpi downloaded from
the various archive servers, but the fonts on our system are in
pxl format and dvi2ps (ver. 2.30) only reads one type of font
format. Is there any program that converts gf to pxl format?
Or is there any archive which has pxl fonts at \magstephalf
resolution? Any other suggestions would be welcome.
