[comp.text] latex: filled boxes of arbitrary size with specifiable gray levels

Hi everybody!

I am wondering if someone has written some postscript
macros which can be called from tex/latex using \special
in order to include a heading, or a paragraph
of text in a box (with boundaries) such that
the box can be filled to a specified gray level.
For example, I want to have following kinds of boxes:

       ---------------------------------
My heading in a filled box
       ---------------------------------

or,

      -----------------------------
A paragraph of text which
I want to be surrounded by
a box filled to a certain
level of grayness. I don't
want to have to specify the
size of the box. I would
like postscript/latex/tex
to figure out the size of
the box depending on the
amount of text, the point
size, textwidth etc.
      ------------------------------

Also, it would be great if one could have boxes with rounded corners,
and reverse video (i.e. unfilled/outlined letters in a filled box).

Please send me a message if you have any macros like this.
I would appreciate getting a copy of such macros if you have any.
Thanks a lot!
