Thank you to everyone who sent email and posted on how to invoke
my own troff macros (as a command line option).
The majority of the people responding said to do this:
$ troff -{troff options} /usr/my/dir/mymacro my_troff_src
troff will process /usr/my/dir/mymacro first and then my_troff_src.
Easy enough! Several other people also mentioned using Profficient.
