I was wondering if someone out there has figured out how to invoke troff on a sun386i (SunOS 4.0.1) to print a document on an HP Laserjet II. Over and above the regular -me macro package nroff functionality, I'd like to try to use bolding and italics command requests. It appears that, in order to be able to use troff -t | lpr -t, a troff binary lpr filter is required. Is this part of the standard unix distribution, or is there one out there in the public domain? Or, should I be using troff -a (I did try this without much success)? Thanks (wishful thinking) Regards, Paul Matz PPG Biomedical Systems One Campus Drive Pleasantville, NY. 10570 914-741-4685 path ppgbms!moe!paul@philabs.philips.com

You will require additional software to drive the printer with troff. There are a few vendors of such software around the country, and we are one such vendor. Our product, called EROFF, includes an enhanced version of diTroff, drivers for LaserJet and PostScript printers, and numerous other goodies. Call Bob Taylor at the number below for details.
