Hi, I'm trying to build a troff (ditroff) description file for the Transcript Software and a postscript printer under dynix. I'm stuck at the point where I convert a DESC file to a DESC.out file. I appear to need a program called makedev which doesn't exist. I checked a Microport machine and its documentation says I should use makedev but the program doesn't exist on that machine either. Have I missed something obvious? -- ______ JANET :jonathan@uk.ac.keele.cs Jonathan Knight, / BITNET:jonathan%cs.kl.ac.uk@ukacrl Department of Computer Science / _ __ other :jonathan@cs.keele.ac.uk University of Keele, Keele, (_/ (_) / / UUCP :...!ukc!kl-cs!jonathan Staffordshire. No. You don't have missed anything. Your vendor has. They apparently forgot to put in the makdev program in their product. Complain to them loudly. As an alternative, you could try to get a public domain rewrite from an archive. Some of these have been floating around on the net. jaap
