[net.periphs] Floppy Disk Controller Chip

bcdoody@wateng.UUCP (Brian C. Doody) (04/05/84)

[]
I recently finished building a self-designed disk controller
board for a prototype disk system. It is designed to use the Intel 8272 FDC
or NEC uPD 765 chip. I ordered one from a place in Toronto, but 2 months
later they tell me they are VERY hard to find because they are used in
the IBM PC. So I have this board all ready to go with a big empty socket
for the 8272!!!
My request: Does anyone know of anywhere that has the part
IN STOCK (eg. just bought one themselves) anywhere in North America (!!)?
Canada would be nice, but I would welcome US responses too, and would be
VERY HAPPY to get responses by mail to bcdoody@wateng.
