[comp.text] C version of TeX?

doug@zaphod.prime.com (04/14/89)

Is there a version of web to produce C instead of Pascal for the SUNs? Also,
I seem to remember something about CTeX. Is that now LaTeX compatible?
Is it free? and if free (or nearly so) where can I get it from.

Does anyone have a version of the plain file to use postscript fonts in place
of CMR? Does anyone have ag-*.tfm files that I can ftp (one of mine is
bogus).

I'd like to thank everyone who responded to my query. A summation:

There is a WEB and TANGLE for C. They are now in the standard TeX
distribution. This also includes the ps_plain.tex file. All this is
available from:

june.cs.washington.edu
uunet.uu.net

at anonymous ftp

As usual you can order the tape (used to be $150 but ???) from these
folks:

Computer Science, FR-35 Lewis Hall DW-10

	(206) 545-2386 (206) 543-6259
	mackay@cs.washington.edu	elisabet@max.acs.washington.edu

The latest C version is also available from ics.uci.edu pub/web*.
I hope this helps others as well.
