I need a tool for maintaining bibliographies (including either abstracts or references to files containing the abstracts). I'd much prefer that it be MS-DOS based, since that is what I have at home, but I'm certainly desparate enough to consider any alternative. I need to be able to create Bib(1) files for Unix documents, and to be able to select the referenced documents for inclusion in MS-WORD, Word Perfect, etc on the PC and/or WORD, WordPerfect, MacWrite, etc on a Macintosh. Basically, I want to be able to keep all of my bibliographic references in one central repository, and then have references to them resolved in some fashion without my having to hand convert them for yet another paper. Any suggestions? Money is limited (I'm a PhD student), but my time isn't (just ask any professor on campus!). I'm even willing to write generators if someone would mail me a copy of the specifications for Unix(tm) BIB(1) and some starting-point source. Thanks folks. Any help would be appreciated. Please e-mail responses. If I receive enough to warrant follow up, I summarize (and post to {...}.sources, if appropriate). -- ======================================================================== Mark A.
