[comp.text] aghast at the "TeXBook" index!

woolstar@cit-vax.Caltech.Edu (John D Woolverton) (04/28/89)

Realizing the unsuitability of the index, I proceded to
read through the book again and index the places where
commands were explaned ``the best''. I haven't entirely
finished the book, but I have a rather large list of
references on the common instructions (usually ones with
less than 2 danger signs.) I keep a copy at the back
of my TeX book.

If anyone is interested in this list, or would like to
add to it, I'll pass it around.

Please, please, post this. Should also be sent to TeXhax, methinks, and
perhaps to TUGBoat. Although it could cause offense since there are lots
of Knuth-worshipers about in those parts.
