The eternal of I and our center go out to those of you who sent
suggestions on how to fix our TeX margins.
We actually turned out to have two problems with our dvi2ps
prologue file. The first was that the only setup macro to be
called was the one for a4 size paper rather that letter size.
So after we fixed that, the suggestion of converting 340 points
to 310 points worked like a charm.
