I had an extended conversation with someone who would like to print his
own scores and the individual parts. This person (a PhD student) uses
his Mac to play around with MIDI but would like some way to print music
in the necessary bulk for (say) an orchestra. He has access to Sun
workstations on campus and asked me to post this question:
Are there any packages (hopefully public domain since he is a poor
college student) that will generate troff commands to print music.
Idealistically, it would be able to print scores, piano, and individual
parts. However, if it cannot do the score he will not turn it down.
Send e-mail concerning this to me (see .sig below) and if there is an
interest, I will post a summary.
