I know of a few sites offering anonymous FTP service which have copies of the TeX distribution, but I don't know which version to be looking for (the most up-to-date, of course, but which is that?). And more importantly, Which sites have it? Also, what other handy TeX-related programs/fonts/etc. should I look for and where should I look for them? In particular, I'm searching for good DVI -> Impress translators (yeah, I know, but what can I do?), DVI -> postscript translators, and dvipage or equivalent (or better?!?). All of these would ideally use GF or, better yet, PK font files rather than PXLs. Disk space is (always) tight. We're running a network of Sun 3's, with two Imagen and (soon) one Postscript printer. Any kind soul out there who could provide me with a little info on where to find these things would be praised and honored in story and song. Please reply via Email. Thanks in advance. Where can I get the patches to bring 2.95 up to 2.99? Failing that where get I FTP 2.99? > Also, what other handy TeX-related programs/fonts/etc. should I look > for and where should I look for them? The iptex program in ./DVIware/laser-setters/umd-dvi tree uses PK font files and works very well for me as a DVI -> Impress translator. (You can FTP the DVIware tree from labrea.stanford.edu:/pub/tex/DVIware.tar.Z.a[a-e].) > Dave ("Already Found Susan, Now Desperately Seeking TeX") Becker > Internet: dave@nmt.edu CSNET: dave@nmtsun UUCP: ...!nmtsun!dave Looking to find the latest and greatest version of TeX. -- Mark D.
