Here are the answers to my query about DVI to EPSON converters. Thanks to all that helped! >From: Ken Yap <ken@cs.rochester.edu> Try science.utah.edu in directory aps:<tex.dvi>. Use tenex mode for binary transfers. >From: beihl%cadillac.cad.mcc.com@mcc.com (Gary Beihl) The current version of DosTeX includes a dvi to epson converter. Do not use the version on Simtel20 as it contains a major bug. DosTeX is freely re-distributable. You can order a copy of the latest version for $75. Mail me at beihl@mcc.com or 119 Jackrabbit Run, Round Rock, TX 78664 if you need more info. >From: vmp!oc@uunet.UU.NET (Orlan Cannon) Hi, I use dvieps, which is from the Beebe DVI drivers that are available for ftp and Bitnet mail transfer from Utah. It works for the newer Epsons and needs just a little adjustment if you have the old MXs. If you want more information on the Utah archives, drop me a note. >From: <BLCARR01@ULKYVX.BITNET> The dvi to epson printer driver you need depends on what kind of an epson printer you have. Do you have a 9-pin printer or a 24-pin printer? Most printer drivers are written with either one or the other type of printer in mind, however, PC TeX sells a printer driver which allows you to software select the type of printer you have. In addition to obtaining a printer driver for the type of printer you have you must also obtain a complete set of PK font files for the resolution of your printer. You may find printer drivers in each of the following sources for TeX products Personal TeX, Inc. 12 Madrona Avenue Mill Valley, CA 94941 (415) 388-8853 ask for their free catalog Kinch Computer Company 501 S Meadow St Ithaca, NY 14850 (607) 273-0484 ask for their free catalog SIMTEL20.ARPA PD1:<MSDOS.TEX> This system accepts anonymous ftp There are several very useful programs here SCIENCE.UTAH.EDU This system accepts anonymous ftp Nelson Beebe's excellent printer drivers (with C source code) CHANNEL1 BBS This is an outstanding Bulletin Board System with numerous conferences that you may join. The TeX conference is conference number 2. This is a very good place to keep up to date with developments in the TeX community for PC users. You will also find a couple of printer drivers and probably all of the font files that you will need for any kind of dot matrix printer. This BBS is located in Boston, MA and the phone number is (617) 354-8873 -- I think! (I'll verify it later and let you know if it is incorrect.) To gain access to the system you will have to register. -- Simmule Turner |Arpa: simmy@nu.cs.fsu.edu | "Wait until it is Florida State Univ |Uucp: gatech!nu.cs.fsu.edu!simmy | finished, it will 444 OSB | Cis: 70651,67 Genie:simmy | be great" Tallahassee, FL 32306 | Tel: +1 904 644 1573 | simmy
