I am having trouble overlaying/including/inserting postscript figures in a LaTeX document processed with Nelson Beebe's dvialw program. The figures are generated with the MacDrawII program and I create postscript files by pressing the F key just after OK'ing a print command. Since the postscript output from MacDrawII is not encapsulated, I have to manually add the %%BoundingBox, %begin(plot), and %end(plot) commands to the postscript file. The postscript file is then included in my document using a \special command. The problem is that when I print the file generated by dvialw, the figures are printed on separate pages from the LaTeX text. For example, the command "dvialw mytexdoc -o2", which processes only page 2, results in two separate pages when printed: one with the postscript figure and one with the text. I looked through the figure postscript file and didn't see any "showpage" commands, so that is not what's causing the extra page eject. However, I'm not familiar with postscript any more than that, so I may be missing something. It appears that I have to eliminate some commands from the figure postscript file to prevent the extra page eject. After two full days of trial and error I have gotten nowhere. So, can anyone give me any pointers as to how I can properly encapsulate these postscript-based figures? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Scott Gilmore Research Assistant University of Delaware gilmore@vax1.acs.udel.edu Center for Composite Materials gilmore@oscar.ccm.udel.edu Dept. of Mechanical Engineering gilmore@minnie.me.udel.edu ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
