Hi. A few months ago, someone in this newsgroup mentioned an article written in the CACM or some similar journal, describing how it is possible, allbeit slow, to perform a sort operation using diversions in nroff. I find myself needing this article now, but cannot find it anywhere, or the reference to it. Could someone please E-mail this information to me. Thanks in advance. -- Greg Ubben bink@aplcen.apl.jhu.edu !uunet!mimsy!aplcen!bink (I think)

Hello... I'm posting this once more, to a wider audience, as no one on this continent who reads comp.text knew the answer. I would REALLY like to locate an article referenced a while back in comp.text in which the author describes how to perform a sort via diversions entirely in NROFF commands (apparently just to show that it can be done). I think it was a CACM article, but am not sure. Hey, you don't even have to use E-mail if you don't want to -- I'm desperate! TOD (Thanks On Delivery) this time... plus a complimentary advance copy of some silly macros I'm writing to do something I won't even mention (as the idea is 60% of the design). ob question: Are multiple arguments to .rm standard (portable)? -- Greg Ubben bink@aplcen.apl.jhu.edu ...!uunet!mimsy!aplcen!bink (I think)
