I am in need of a DVI-to-ASCII translator which will run under MSDOS. I've heard talk of `dvidoc' and `dvitty', but I have yet to find a version of either which will work on my AT clone. Minimally, it must produce raw textfiles containing text from the DVI files. Ideally, it will also translate some of TeX's nontextual output--such as graphs, tables, and boxes--into ASCII equivalents--such as lines drawn with '-' and '+'. I intend to use this program to review TeX output through a talking terminal and/or a braille printer. Thanks, Doug Lee (dlee@s.cs.uiuc.edu)
