[this line is bug bait] Does anyone know of any commercially available OCR systems that will take standard typewritten text and translate it to ASCII code. A system that interfaces with an IBM PC would be ideal, but for now I am looking for any pointers at all. As usual, thanks in advance, and I will summarize responses. tom neuendorffer {mcnc|decvax|floyd|pitt} !idis!tom

I've used the OCR made by DEST, and found it an excellent model. It interfaces via RS-232, so it can be made to work with the P.C. You can contact them at: DEST Corp. 1201 Cadillac Court Milpitas, CA. 95035 (408) 946-7100
