Dimitri Vulis <dlv@cunyvms1.cuny.edu> has sent me some information on Russian TeX software available elsewhere which has now been incorporated into the "babel" stuff at ymir. Included are Russian hyphenation patterns, some VMS software to allow one to see Russian letters on the screen of a VT200 terminal, some PC stuff, a little documentation, and two sets of fonts (one developed in the Soviet Union, which is apparently better-looking than the University of Washington fonts, but only has Russian characters (no Serbian, etc.). This is all in subdirectories of SOFTWARE:[anonymous.tex.babel.russian]. You'll have to poke around a bit to see what's there. I haven't finished compiling readme files for these directories, but they will be made available at a future date. -dh
