Hi, I received a TeX error message when TeXing a document that I do not understand, and I wondered if anyone knows what the problem is, and how to fix it. The error message is as follows: ! TeX capacity exceeded, sorry [pool_size=40000]. This is followed by a number of irrelevant lines of messages related to the point of the document where the above error occurred. I have looked in the TeX book for a solution to my problem, but nothing there gave me any clues. I have been TeXing a large document which inputs quite a number of files from a number of directories. The document is about 670 pages long, and there are probably between 100 and 200 files that are input with \input commands. Some input files contain nested input files. I have tried TeXing the document after removing a number of \input commands from the control file. When I do this, the error still occurs, but at a later stage in the document. I suspect that TeX can only handle a limited number of "somethings", but I don't know what these "somethings" are. Help!! Thanks in advance, Anita Giddings ___________________________________________________________________ Hewlett-Packard Australian Software Operation (ASO) //| ___ ___ PO Box 439, Ringwood, Victoria, 3134, AUSTRALIA. // | | | | phone: Inter.+613 8711666, FAX: Inter.+613 8702169 //--| !--| | | // | ___| |___| HP-UX Mail: anita@hpausla.hp.com // HPdesk: Anita Giddings/HPY200/UX ACSnet address: anita@hpausla.oz
