That reminds me. Some months ago I posted a request for help about a dvips program. Is there nobody in this entire universe who uses a dvips program on a system with short filenames (like, oh, say, Sys. V UNIX)? I got a dvips etc. from somewhere (labrea? I forget) but it had these long filenames like AvantGardeItal that won't work on Sys. V. Sure, I could go through and hack up the files to use names like "avant.dembld" and rename the files accordingly. But some of the files aren't unique in the first 14 chars and hence copied over themselves as I untarred them. Hasn't anybody done this work already?
