I am trying to install LaTeX(..tex software) which I obtained by anonymous ftp from nisc.nyser.net. It has been succesfully installed on the Sun 3's, and am now trying to install it on the SUN OS4.0 (sparks ) and I am stuck simply because we dont have the Sun pascal compiler(pc) running on the sparks. This is needed to make several executables in the ../TeXware subdirectory. Now is there a way by which I can compile Latex without using the pascal compiler? Will a pascal to C translator do the trick? The WEB-TO-C apparently does not make the pascal compiler superfluous. I will be grateful if someone out there can give me pointers as to whether this is possible and what is my best bet. I would also be thankful if someone who has installed LaTeX on sparks successfully tells me if there are any other bugs or problems I may face. Thanks in advance.... Vivek S.
