[comp.text] Dictionaries

graham@hslrswi.UUCP (Graham Tritt) (05/02/87)

Does anyone have any dictionaries on-line.
Perhaps you created one while learning a foreign language.

I am especially interested in translation lists and dictionaries
of synonyms, antonyme, etc. But they should be public domain
or cheap! There are the copyright problems with computer-readable
forms of commercial dictionaries.

Are there any translators on the net?
Any information I get I will summarize and tell you
about in a couple of months.

Out of a thousand little wheels we can make a big one!

I know this isn't exactly the topic for this group but... does anyone
know of a large free (or dirt cheap) machine readable dictionary? I
actually don't care about definitions I just want a bunch of words to
check spelling. If you are familiar with "The Word Book" then you know
exactly what I want.

thank you
