[comp.text] WORD 5 and AMSTRAD Hercules Card

the WORD 5.0 Hercules driver doesn't operate
correctly on AMSTRAD PC 1640 hardware. The vertical
hold won't work and the screen wanders off towards 
the top. I called up MICROSOFT as well as AMSTRAD
(that is the dealer) but they weren't able to help
me. I'm not into assembler and don't understand the
working of a screen device driver but I've got the feeling
that a little patch would do the trick, enabling me to use
the graphic display, too. (incidentally, the Hercules driver
of WORD 4.0 worked with this hardware!).

If anyone should happen to know this problem or have an idea how to
fix it. I should thank him very much if he'd let me know.
