I'm trying to backtrack some text formatter history. Specifically, I'm trying to track down when the first formatter had an indent (.in or equivalent) command, and on what computer. So far, I've gotten back to Jerry Saltzer's runoff at MIT on CTSS, 1965. Supposedly, the original memo references some earlier programs by M. L. Lowry. Anyway, I'd love to hear of any history that goes before that. thanx. -- -john mashey DISCLAIMER: <generic disclaimer, I speak for me only, etc> UUCP: mash@mips.com OR {ames, decwrl, prls, pyramid}!mips!mash DDD: 408-524-7015, 524-8253 or (main number) 408-720-1700 USPS: MIPS Computer Systems, 930 E.
