Would someone in London mind picking up the phone and calling STC to
ask them to please put a cork in this sputtering effusion of NeTrash?

And perhaps someone in the States could phone up David Cortesi and
tell him to check his facts before sticking his bloody great oar in.
A couple of people have sent e-mail pointing out these corrupt
messages appearing in comp.text and managed to keep a civil tongue in
their heads at the same time.

Whilst it's true that the article remnants originated here it would
appear that the corruption accurred elsewhere. Here is the header as
seen here of one of the offending articles:

>Path: stc!ukc!mcsun!uunet!unisoft!seer!seeker!
>From: ** Sender Unknown **
>Newsgroups: comp.text
>Subject: ubject: uel <284@rhum.t.t.Message-ID: <285858umumuSender:

The Path: line indicates that the article originated from "seeker".
The Message-Id: is from an American site, if the corrupt article had
originated here without a valid Message-Id: I would have expected to
see an ID added by one of our neighbours.

The .signature remnants are in fact from one of my own articles,
though some of the other text has definitely been introduced from
elsewhere.

I will attempt to get mail to the admins of sites seer and seeker and
also fps.mcw.edu in an attempt to track the cause of this problem.

Cheers,
Bruce Munro.
