We (Sequoia Systems, Inc) just received the source tapes for Documentor's WorkBench 3.0 this morning and we are trying to figure out what to do next. The accompanying documentation is a pile of photocopied articles, some old, such as troff and eqn and some new, such as mpictures and picasso. While I ponder what to do next, I would like know if anyone else has had experience with installing DWB 3.0. Specifically, would like to know what the conversion effort from the 386 code to a Motorola platform was and whether DWB 2.0 text files can be maintained in the new environment? mcmullen@seqp4.ORG (Jim McMullen @ Sequoia Systems Inc., Marlboro, Mass.) raised these two issues. Please mail all questions about DWB 3.1 directly to me, no need to bother the net unless I refuse to answer. To the best of our ability, DWB 3.1 source is portable to every Unix known to mankind, including SunOS and Research V9 and 10. If it doesn't port, it's probably your Unix that's at fault, but we'd like to know about it. All existing DWB files should print correctly under 3.1; it's upward compatible with 2.0 (but not necessarily with anything the VARs have called troff). The documentation was sent out in troff format with the source tapes. Once you have it installed (should take an hour or so; I'm technically incompetent and that's how long it takes me) you should be able to print fresh, beautiful documentation for yourself.
