[comp.text] Preventing ptx from sorting on font changes

If I have an input file that contains font change information (such as
\f3bold\f1), ptx sorts the entry around that word as if it started with the
letter "f".  Is there any way to get it to sort on the word inside the font
change information?  TIA...
