I had once posted that I was successfully running Common TeX 3.0 BETA on a 386 machine without tweaking. Well, I was wrong -- I had done a bit of tweaking, and forgotten about it. While Common TeX 3.0 BETA seems quite nice, and works as-is on at least Suns, I am delving into it a bit more and have found that I'd like to do quite a bit more of tweaking to speed it up and reduce memory consumption, and eliminate some portability probalems. I have been corresponding with the author, Pat Monardo, and will post again on this subject when the tweaking process is done. -- Piercarlo Grandi | ARPA: pcg%uk.ac.aber.cs@nsfnet-relay.ac.uk Dept of CS, UCW Aberystwyth | UUCP: ...!mcsun!ukc!aber-cs!pcg Penglais, Aberystwyth SY23 3BZ, UK | INET: pcg@cs.aber.ac.uk
