I have a document that has a number of symbolic matrices in it as equations. With FrameMaker 2.1 for the Mac, these format fine EXCEPT that the expressions making up the individual matrix elements are set too close together and thus difficult to see clearly. They don't overlap, but they are not well seperated visually. How can I fix this? I've tried: 1) Using a LARGE equation (and defining it to use the same type size) instead of MEDIUM. It's smarter than I, keys off the type size, and produces the original output. 2) Using Micro-positioning to manually move the elements around. This is a pain, but could be done EXCEPT that the bracket around the matrix does not move. It stays the same size, greatly limiting how much extra space I can introduce. (This is true whether it's the matrix bracket, or if I turn off the matrix bracket, select the all matrix elements and add a bracket by hand) 3) I can make space for micropositioning by adding extra rows and columns. So long as I leave these extra elements empty, they dont print yet reserve extra space. Unfortunately, this is a very coarse adjustment and makes it much harder to microposition the elements so as to make it readable. Any suggestions? I'd really like to know how to tell Frame that the 'box' the elements fill is larger - that would solve all my problems. Thanks in advance.
