[comp.text] Looking for Mr. Goodprinter

liwen@sbctri.sbc.com (Andy. Liwen) (03/30/91)

We have a number of 300 dpi Postscript printers scattered about our network
being driven by Frame (on the Suns) and Word/WP/... (on the Macs). We are
looking for a higher resolution printer for final output printing. Something
in the 600 - 1000 dpi range. We don't need high ppm as this will be used less
frequently for final output. Can anyone point me toward a cost effective
solution?

Thanks,
//Andy Liwen

If you want final output for doing a book, then the expensive Linotronic may
be what you are looking for. There is a 1270dpi model, but I have no idea
of the cost. This gives great output for a book. I have used said output
from a local service shop.
