I'd like suggestions on how to reliably enter the standard vertical double-quote character (ASCII 042) in man pages. The usage is for documenting C code and shell scripts. I'm looking for a portable solution that will work for normal terminals as well as for printing processed man pages via troff, and work with all major OS implementations of man (SunOS, Ultrix, OSF/1, SVR4, etc.) Thanks, -lar Lar Kaufman I would feel more optimistic about a bright future (voice) 512-794-9070 for man if he spent less time proving that he can (fax) 512-794-0623 outwit Nature and more time tasting her sweetness lark@tivoli.com and respecting her seniority. - E.B.
