[comp.text] Groff output to a Propotial-Space Dot-Matrix printer

terryk@encore.com (Terence M. Kelleher) (06/22/91)

I am using groff with an NEC Pinwriter P6. It works fairly well by
either formatting with the "ascii" device or by using the "ps" device
and ghostscript to translate.

The Ascii device assumes fixed space characters. I can get
proportional spacing using PostScript, but the dot matrix fonts do not
look as good as the NLQ Proportional Space font built into the
printer.

Does a replacement for grotty exist that will accomadate proportional
spacing?
