A while back there was a brief discussion concerning Unix System V/68 on Motorola's VME/10. It was mentioned that the serial card (MVME400) had problems talking to certain terminals and that a specially wired cable would take care of this. The problem is that the MVME400 card expects several handshaking signals that not all terminals provide. To enable the MVME400 card to talk to a three wire terminal (one that only has transmit data, receive data, and ground), the board must be jumpered differently. Make the following changes: For Port 1, the following pairs of pins must be wired together for header J15: 1-7 11-15 17-18 19-20 For Port 2, the following pairs of pins must be wired together for header J9: 3-13 9-10 11-12 15-17 All other pins on J8, J9, J14, and J15 should be open.
