For several non-technical reasons we are thinking about purchasing a DEC DEUNA ethernet controller. I know next to nothing about ethernet so am hoping someone can give me a hand. We are running 4.2BSD on a 750 and a 785. Firstly, I notice that the DEC ethernet is not listed as being supported in the 4.2 installation guide. I suppose that someone has written a driver that they could supply to me or that I can get one from DEC that they wrote for Ultrix. Is this true? Secondly, we already have an Interlan ethernet controller which will go in one or the other of the vaxes. Probably in the 785. We also have two Symbolics machines connected to the same cable as the Interlan will connect to. Can I easily connect the Interlan ethernet and cables with the DEC ethernet? Am I just looking for trouble or is this a straight forward operation? Does this idea even make sense at all?
